Client Representative

In the Oil & Gas industry, a client’s representative oversees certain aspects of the project as designated, ensuring the interests of the client/owner are considered throughout.

• Problems arising on a project site follow a chain of command, escalating until presented to someone with the authority to address them. A subcontractor may bring a problem to the general contractor, who may provide a solution or bring it to the attention of the client’s representative, who often will provide solutions directly. Sometimes, though, especially with more complex problems, the client’s representative will analyze the problem, break it down into its components, and present them to the client together with a recommended solution.

• Client’s representatives usually with a client from beginning to the closeout of the process. Other services offered by client’s representatives include budgeting, field supervision and cost control.
